Meremere is finally finished!

Our classroom is looking great finally. Our new wall colours are awesome, and we are enjoying the fact that we won’t have to pack up again till the end of the year – yahoo!!!!!!! All the children have displayed amazing resilience and flexibility over the last term and a half. I am very proud of what a great class Meremere is. We are starting to use our blog again. We are looking forward to sharing some of our activities with everyone over the next 2 and a 1/2 terms.

Holiday

Hi friends,

The holiday is soon over and it is sad and good at the same time. I have missed all of you but it is fantastic with holidays too. I have been at the luge in Rotorua. The first ride was scary because I couldn’t find the right speed I wanted. But it was much easier the seccond time. I just loved it. I and my family  have been in Tauranga at Bay Wave and Bay Fair. I liked to swim there. Tomorrow we will go to our friends farm in Opotike. They have cut calves and lamb and we are allowed to feed the calves with milkbottels. I love to go to their farm.  See you soon!

What we have been doing

Its half way through the year . Were still getting back to normal from the production. Our new classrooms are making it hard to get around but where handling it. Its been raining lots so we haven’t been able to get onto the feild. Lately we have been doing rotations around the classes.  We are looking at dome A on the Web Cam in antarctica. The lowest tempereture recorded was -88. Its 2 days till the end of term. YAY!

Antarctica

We have been learning about Antarctica. We have been watching a DVD called life in the freezer which has taught us lots of things about Antarctica. Since its the end of term we will contine on Antarctica in term 3. We are getting ready for our student led conferences. But for right now we are doing our running records

Production is over, now we are having assessments

Our production was fantastic, Mrs England is very proud of us and how well we did it. Our best prerformance was on Wednesday night. Jac lost his voice and Liam had to read Jac’s poem out, and JT had to lead the haka!! We enjoyed everybodies items, our favourites were pink, blue, orange and green. The finale with ‘Spice up your life’ was great. all the little children looked really cute. This week we have gone straight back to work with lots of assessments!! The builders have also put a big fence through the middle of school so they can start the new classrooms so it’s all go here!!

Awesome moves

We have got our fabric for our cloaks now and it is fantastic, it changes how we move.  We need more practice for our dance but Mrs England is really rapt with how we are doing! We are making her proud!!  We are just about to go to whole school practice for the finale, not much normal stuff happening this week.

Production practice in full swing

We are busy practising for our production item. The whole school is involved in ‘Colour My World’, and our colour is black. We are dancing, doing drama and reciting poetry. Next week will be a full on intensive for our costumes, props and practicing our moves.
